Euro Suisse acquires Freeplay Energy Group

We are pleased to announce that we have successfully completed the acquisition of Freeplay Energy Group's business worldwide (excluding India).

Freeplay Energy is the brand that pioneered and today leads development in the international market for self-sufficient energy products by harnessing human, solar and rechargeable energy to power durable portable devices.

Freeplay devices have captured acclaim on multiple occasions. The initial clockwork radio won the BBC Design Award in 1996, and the Weza foot-powered generator won an Innovation in Water, Sanitation and Energy Services for Poor People award from the World Bank in 2006. In 2007, the Indigo lantern was named a Consumer Electronics Show Innovations Awards Honoree. For the last few years Freeplay has been involved in a world-wide Long Term Agreement (LTA) with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Supply Division for the supply of Freeplay's Lifeline self-sufficient radios.

After much discussion, we felt that the brand, technology and culture of Freeplay would be synergistic to our group as we continue to fulfill our mission of 'enabling customers to thrive in a changing world'

Freeplay is led by an experienced management team with people based in London, Cape Town and Hong Kong
